✈️ Blog Post #2: Personalized Poetry
Hi everyone, When it comes to writing your own poetry, I think most can recognize that it has a distinctly different feel when compared to simply reading poetry. In class, I could tell that people really poured their heart and soul into their own writing/craft, whereas if we were to perform other pieces of poetry that weren’t ours, it simply wouldn’t be the same. In terms of my experience, I wrote about my travels from this summer (go figure), so I felt that I had an intense connection to the experiences from the summer and was able to convert at least some of that same magic onto the page. Poetry is such a vast medium in that there are so many ways to go about performing/writing it that makes it so personal, and I think everyone that performed this past week did excellent jobs at giving us a look into their minds.
